Richard E. Layton, M.D. practices specialized pediatrics, allergy and preventive medicine. He has discovered that allergies are the underlying cause of a wide variety of medical problems in adults and children of all ages. Dr.Layton has achieved significant success in treating children from across the United States with learning, behavior and developmental problems caused by allergies
Dr.Layton has more than 26 years experience in pediatrics and integrated medicine. Since 1987, he has been operating his own medical practice in Towson, Maryland. Prior to that, he specialized in pediatrics and allergies at Valley Pediatric Associates from 1972 to 1987. He has been an attending physician at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland since 1972.
He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond in 1965 and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1969. Dr.Layton interned at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida from 1969 to 1970. In 1970, he was recognized as Outstanding Intern in Pediatrics. From 1970 to 1972, Dr.Layton served as a Resident and Chief Resident in pediatrics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.
He is board certified with the American Academy of Pediatrics, and works with several prominent professional organizations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the Baltimore City Medical Society, the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland and the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. Dr.Layton frequently lectures on these topics to professional organizations, school associations, parenting groups, and other support groups
